Duties
Assist with asphalt paving operations
Take pride in producing high-quality finished surfaces
Contribute to a team-focused environment where every crew member matters
Support a company culture built on accountability, respect, and growth
Operate or assist in operating paving equipment (paver, roller, skid steer, etc.) as qualified
Rake, lute, and shovel asphalt to proper grade and finish
Check and maintain proper depths, slopes, and compaction standards
Work alongside screed operators and equipment operators to ensure smooth, quality finishes
Perform site preparation and cleanup before, during, and after paving
Follow safety protocols and union job site standards at all times
Maintain tools and equipment in safe working condition
Communicate effectively with crew members, supervisors, and project managers
Represent the company professionally with a strong focus on customer service and quality workmanship
Experience
Previous experience in asphalt paving preferred
Experience working on a paving crew (raking, luting, screed, rolling, or operating equipment) strongly preferred
Familiarity with paving equipment such as pavers, rollers, skid steers, loaders and dump trucks
Understanding of grade, slope, and compaction standards
Ability to work in fast-paced, team-oriented outdoor environments
Commitment to safety and quality workmanship
Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues quickly and effectively
Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) preferred for operating commercial vehicles on-site or between locations
Must be eligible for membership or currently a member of Operating Engineers Local 49
