A1 Engineering, a well-established precision machine shop operating since 1971, is seeking a skilled and motivated Tool Maker/Grinder to join our growing team. We’re a small, close-knit shop that values teamwork, craftsmanship, and continual learning.

What We’re Looking For
We’re adding capacity to our tool making/grinding department and are looking for a candidate who brings:
• - A strong work ethic and a desire to learn.
• - A positive, team-oriented attitude.
• - Previous Tool Making, ID/OD and Surface grinding experience (required).
• - Willingness to be cross-trained on other machines. Opportunities to work with CNC mills and lathes if interested.
Qualifications
• - 2-year vocational degree in machining or equivalent hands-on experience.
• - Proficiency with manual mills, lathes, welding and grinding machines.
• - Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and part tolerances.
• - Experience with setup, and complex troubleshooting.
• - Understanding of various materials: plastics, aluminum, tool steel, exotic alloys, etc.
Key Responsibilities
• - Work with a wide range of materials.
• - Perform various tasks on manual equipment including fixture making.
• - Very tight tolerance ID/OD and surface grinding operations.
• - High attention to detail.
• - Part repairs including welding.
• - Perform in-process inspection and quality checks.
• - Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient workspace.
• - Collaborate with team members to improve processes and part quality.
• - Demonstrate self-motivation, problem-solving ability, and excellent attendance.
