condition: excellent
make / manufacturer: Parasound
model name / number: Z-DAC
Parasound Z-DAC with Headphone output

Very nicely made with heavy duty all aluminum casework. All functions work perfectly and device is in mint condition with no marks or scratches. I have the original manual, cord and box with all foam inserts and packing materials. All my gear has been bought new, and only used in a pet and smoke free environment.

I have two of these units which I bought new from Audio Advisor. I am keeping one because these have a very analog sound and can have great synergy with speakers that can easily become too bright on some material.

If you have found many of the DACs from China overly bright and digital sounding with your system the Parasound Z-DACs are known to be a little on the warmer side and more analog sounding. I used one of these with various Klipsch and JBL models with great results using mostly Parasound amplifiers.

I am located about 1 mile off 35W in LIno Lakes. I can be flexible with show times as long as I know ahead when you would like to check it out.

Parasound designed with the help of
Danish digital experts Holm Acoustics.  Some features according to Parasound:
Premium Analog Devices AD1853 24-bit/192 kHz Digital to Analog Converter IC
All inputs feature jitter reduction and are re-clocked and up-sampled to 422 kHz / 24 bit
USB input for playing music from PC or Mac (driver-less for easy setup)
Asynchronous sample rate conversion for all inputs including the USB input
Works with any format file on your computer up to 96 kHz / 24 bit
Works in variable volume mode in Windows® for connecting direct to a power amp (no preamp needed)
Optical and Coaxial digital inputs for use with any standard digital connection
RCA unbalanced and XLR balanced analog outputs
High current headphone output with volume control can drive any headphones from 32 to 600 ohms
Oversized internal toroid power transformer (not a wall wart like many competitors)
Will always power back up to the same input in the event of an AC power outage
