Personal Care Assistant wanted
Help assisting with daily living activities to help them maintain independence, safety, and quality of life. This role requires compassion, reliability, and a commitment to delivering high-quality care. preference
Setting: Single family residence Coon Rapids, MN – patient is an 80 YOA female with mid to end stage Dementia/Alzheimer’s. Male family member is live in care giver. She is very kind and independent minded. Unaware the disease is robbing her of the life she had.
Primary Responsibilities Include: Assisting with dressing; Assisting with personal grooming and hygiene (bathing, oral care, hair care); Assisting with toileting and continence care; Monitoring and reporting changes in the patients condition or behavior; Providing companionship and emotional support; Ensuring a safe and clean home environment.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
Previous caregiving or personal care experience in a cognitive impaired setting preferred.
Ability to follow care plans and written/verbal instructions
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Reliable, punctual, and professional
Ability to maintain client confidentiality and respect privacy
Basic understanding of personal care and hygiene practices
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Current CPR (preferred)
Compensation: $25.00 hr.
This position will start at 20 hours a week for the first 2 months as companionship and becoming familiar with one another will be the focus. I anticipate the role to transition to 8-4 M-F with potential respite duties down the road. Preference will be given to candidates who are currently working for no more than one other patient.
Ability to pass background check is required. I will be reviewing potential candidates resumes and interviewing for proper compatibility in this role.
