First edition Mothers Day 1976 plate by Joseph C. Leyendecker. This plate was limited to 5000 total made and was originally a cover for The Saturday Evening Post by Norman Rockwell. Manufactured by Ridgewood Fine China of Southampton, PA. Comes with spring type plate hanger and has the protective clear plastic/rubber sleeves to prevent damage to the edges of the plate. An identical plate without the hanger is listed on another site in Europe for 9.78 Euro ($10.75) plus shipping. A wonderful gift depicting a matronly Grandmother and her Grandson making a pie together. The plate is 8 1/2 inches diameter with a completely intact gilded perimeter edge and has no chips, cracks, fading, or stains. The hanger if bought individually usually costs $4 or more, and our $9 price is for both the plate and the hanger.
