I have built a 16' stitch and glue wooden canoe. It is built from marine grade okoume plywood, 1088. This process of building includes sheathing the exterior of the boat in fiberglass and I used fiberglass tape on the interior seams. The wooden gunwales, breasthooks, thwart, yolk and seats are all made from mahogany or cherry. The exterior and interior of the hull are both coated twice with marine grade paint. The hull is designed to be ultra light weight and easy to portage. I am an experienced boat builder, this boat was made to be maneuverable. It's a wonderful solo or tandem canoe. It is registered and currently licensed. If anyone would be interested in building, I also have another identical boat that is partially built. If you have any further questions about the process or other inquiries, send me an e-mail, I would be happy to discuss it.
