This is an actual panel from an existing aircraft that "Nose Art" was hand painted on as a wall decoration. This metal panel depicts the markings from a WWII shark mouth of a P-40 Warhawk. The Curtiss P-40 Warhawk is an American single-engined, single-seat, all-metal fighter and ground-attack aircraft that first flew in 1938. Inspired by 112 Squadron's usage of them in North Africa, and by the Luftwaffe's earlier use of it. The "Shark Mouth" logo on the sides of the P-40's nose was most famously used on those of the Flying Tigers in China. This logo was hand painted on a modern aircraft panel by the artist. This particular panel is 32 inches wide, is 18 inches tall and 5 inches deep.
