Established in 1983, MEDTOX is now the nation's third largest SAMHSA-certified drug testing laboratory. We are seeking a QA/QC Laboratory Assistant II interested in contributing to our rapidly growing organization.<br>
<br>
The QA/QC Lab Assistant II provides QA and QC technical assistance to the Quality Assurance Department; aids the Quality Assurance Specialists in the preparation of control materials; performs diagnostic device studies and creates reports.<br>
<br>
SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday, Part-Time / Flexible Hours<br>
<br>
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:<br>
<br>
QA/QC Lab Assistant I Duties (with additional QA/QC Lab Assistant II responsibilities outlined below)<br>
<br>
•	Record daily refrigerator and freezer temperatures on appropriate charts. Replace paper in automatic temperature charters weekly <br>
•	Complete weekly order of supplies from the warehouse and restocks QA laboratory as needed <br>
•	Assist the QA specialists in the labeling and aliquoting of controls and standards; aid in the inventory of controls and long term storage of pools <br>
•	Complete data entry for all control material (i.e. monthly data, filing, yearly book summary/turnover) <br>
•	File MSDS sheets and maintains books (including master list) <br>
•	Process the certified negative urine pools (i.e. labeling, filtering, aliquoting) <br>
•	Monitor inventory of validation kits including devices, packets, and solutions; ensure appropriate packets are sent to clients <br>
•	Maintain “device retains” by organizing and taking inventory of the device storage room <br>
•	Organize, file, and maintain forensic laboratory daily blind data; file final blind report printouts in main filing room <br>
<br>
In addition to performing the duties of the QA/QC Lab Assistant I (outlined above), the level II is responsible for the following duties: <br>
<br>
          •	          Assist the QA Specialist in the preparation of controls and standards for the laboratory and Medtox Diagnostics <br>
          •	          Prepare lists of positive samples to sell to requesting clients <br>
          •	          Prepare validation solutions for the profile and sure screen devices <br>
          •	          Complete clinical testing and studies regarding diagnostic devices; compile data and create reports as needed <br>
          •	          Assist the QA Department in miscellaneous laboratory duties as assigned or as needed<br>
<br>
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:<br>
Associate’s degree in chemistry, biology or clinical laboratory science<br>

Experience Required<br>
Prior experience with Phase I Environmental Site Assessments and NEPA Reports conducted for wireless carriers, tower companies, acquisition firms, or lenders. <br>

The Scientist I is responsible for performing research and development of new analytes; modifying current assays and analyzing samples in support of Clinical Trials and R&D.<br>

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:<br>
•	Assist in the development of methods for new analytes, including initial research, method development, analysis, validation, documentation and writing of SOPs in support of clinical trials <br>
•	Modify and validate existing methods as needs are identified for use in clinical trials, R&D, and production laboratories <br>
•	Identify priorities of new assays, areas for method improvement and report progress of projects <br>
•	Introduce new methodologies into the production laboratory; assist in the training of the new assay until it is fully integrated into the production workflow <br>
•	Analyze samples and document results for clinical trails studies in accordance to laboratory SOPs <br>
•	Perform duties and responsibility in accordance with GLP guidelines <br>
•	Maintain laboratory records, maintenance logs, quality control charts, reagent and standard logs, and other worksheets <br>
•	Evaluate raw and final data for accuracy; recognize and corrects errors; Use sound judgment when correlating or interpreting results to produce a final report <br>
•	Maintain instrumentation, calibrate, clean, and perform scheduled and as needed maintenance procedures; perform critical function checks and recognize significant changes in instrument function; trouble shoot as needed <br>
•	Participate in the instruction and training of others; demonstrate and/or explain the testing process to others or observe the testing process as performed by others<br>
<br>
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:<br>
•	Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology <br>
•	Two years quantitative analysis experience using GC, HPLC-UV, LC-MS/MS, RIA or ELISA technologies <br>
•	One 1 year of experience in a GLP-environment <br>
•	Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot methodology<br>
