The Systems Administrator will be responsible for the overall health and availability of both production and development environments across the organization, and to meet the system architecture goals of Jobs2Web.
Specifically, the Systems Administrator role will have impact through these responsibilities:
- Manage web, application, and backend servers across the organization in production and development environments.
- Closely monitor production systems to ensure compliance with internal and external service level agreements.
- Provide support to the Help Desk in issue analysis and resolution.
- Oversee system administration activities with an external hosting provider.
- Perform estimation and capacity planning to accommodate rapid growth.
- Assist in the design of organizational system architecture, and execute plans to meet system architecture goals.
- Demonstrate the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Actively participate in initiatives that define and implement the vision and objectives of Jobs2Web.
Desired Qualifications and Competencies:
- Expertise in management of Linux RHEL 5/6 and Windows 2003 /2008 operating systems.
- Expertise in management of J2EE application servers and Apache web servers on both Linux and Windows is essential; ColdFusion server management experience a plus.
- Experience with ActiveMQ, Lucene, Solr, and other Apache projects are beneficial.
- Experience in network management and troubleshooting.
- Experience in setup and maintenance of monitoring platforms (Nagios, Cacti, Zabbix, and similar).
- Exposure to virtualization and cloud computing.
- Provide occasional system support outside of normal business hours.
- Consistently demonstrates strong team and individual performance.
- Effective written and oral communication skills as well as strong interpersonal skills.
- Builds positive and effective relationships with individuals both internal and external to the organization.
- Displays capacity for a fast paced work environment.
Work Environment:
- The work environment is a fast-paced, dynamic start-up environment.
- Nature of the work involved will necessitate on-call evenings and weekends.
Education:
- Bachelors Degree with 2-5 years of related professional experience or non-degreed with 4-6 years related professional experience.
