Enthusiastic individuals are needed to tutor immigrants, refugees and life-long Minnesotans in reading, writing and English. Help students achieve life’s necessities like completing job applications, helping their children with homework and understanding medicine labels. Tutor one-to-one, in a small group or as a classroom assistant. Training and ongoing support provided by the Minnesota Literacy Council. Opportunities are available throughout the Metro area and Greater Minnesota.
Volunteer opportunities available:
- ESL tutor*
- Reading, writing or GED tutor
- Citizenship/civics, math or technology coach
- Classroom assistant or lead classroom teacher
- One-to-one learning partner
- Administrative support assistant
*To be an ESL Tutor, you need to speak, read and write English but do not need to know any other language.
