The Minnesota Literacy Council’s Learning Center North Side in Minneapolis is currently seeking enthusiastic individuals interested in volunteering to teach English and basic skills to adults.
You'll gain insight into the immigrant and refugee experience while making a lasting difference in the life of an adult learner.
Volunteers are currently needed to teach or assist in pre-literate through advanced levels.
Volunteer teachers will create their own lesson plans, lead activities, and work with enthusiastic groups of learners! Textbooks, curriculum, and other materials are provided.
Time commitment is one morning or evening per week from either 9:30am-12:00pm or 6pm-8:30pm Monday –Thursday for a minimum of three months.
Currently our biggest needs are on Monday evenings to work with our GED Science class, Wednesday evenings working with either our Beginning or Intermediate class or Thursday mornings working with our Advanced class.
No previous experience or foreign language required. Training is provided by the Minnesota Literacy Council.
