The next meeting to try to close KARE rescue is on the 3rd of Nov. They still will not give out a time for this meeting as they want to keep it under the table. Guessing it is at either 9:00AM or 7:00PM . KARE has saved and found Great adopters for over 700 dogs in the last 3yrs. Dogs that would have been euthanized. Pics and letters from adopters are recieved at KARE daily w/ thank you's for finding us this wonderful friend(dog). KARE will no longer be able to provide this service to these dogs or adopters if MilleLacs county has their way. KARE is S.E. of Milaca surrounded by hay and corn field. They take in all breed or type of dog , get them FULLY vetted ,work w/any issues they may have and match them to Wonderfull Families where they have Lifelong homes. Many of these dogs are rescued from MilleLacs County impound where if not claimed w/in 5 days they r euthenized(at taxpayer expense $200ea.) KARE has always taken in these dogs at -0- cost to the county and surrounding communities. This county has 1 AC officer at $1700p/mth who recieves approx 2-3 calls p/wk many of these dogs end up w/KARE. The county is now hiring 3 new AC officers to help w/ these 8-10 calls p/mnth at tax payer expense. Y they insist on closing KARE rather than making a new ordinance allowing KARE to continue its mission is ridiculous. They believe recue is not a needed thing in their area. Ive already stated the # of dogs helped thru KARE + many more they were unable to assist due to being what they deemed as full, 15-30 dogs. They feel this is as many as they can give the care and attention required to get them ready for adoption. KARE needs a show of support at this meeting to be able to keep helping these animals. KARE is a registered 501 3C nonprofit organization. They can be found at petfinder.com , they are the only recue in Milaca MN. All MilleLacs county board member names can be found on the MilleLacs county homepage. #'s are in the book. HELP them save these Wonderful Dogs! Please do what you can!!!
