FYI, food prices went up after farmland was diverted to energy production because of failed government intervention in at least what should be private markets. An intentional shift of the resources, even a bad one, is not the same as an inflation of the currency - Econ1001. Yes some RINOs joined with Democrats; that happens on nearly all of the bad policies that come out of Washington. Don't let that distract you. Democrats as a rule favor screwing up markets and abandoning market-cost-discipline while conservatives for the most part oppose the failed interventions.
What's funniest about ethanol subsidies and artificially incentivising all other energies that don't otherwise pay for themselves is that YOU likely FAVOR screwing up the market while I totally oppose it, but then you have the audacity to jump in and use it as an example of something that went wrong. Go figure.
Then you quote high labor costs too like that is bad and you oppose it??? FYI, labor priced at market and trending higher is a sign of ... PROSPERITY. Increasing incomes in times of increased production and increased productivity is also NOT synonymous with inflation which by definition is a monetary phenomenon. Your side should try it [allowing incomes to increase] sometime...
"American jobs accelerated at a record pace at the end of 2008, bringing the year's total job losses to 2.6 million or the highest level in more than six decades."
Yes. That was exactly the point of my post. The aftermath of Democrats taking congress has been HELL for the working people of this country and it is only getting worse. You can't promise to crush returns from investment and then wonder why all the panic to sell assets and halt hiring.
Like I said, serious replies only, PLEASE!
