Yes, I agree. This does indeed suck. There is a lot of blame and desire for Obama to fail. I don't think that is a good idea. I see people willing to have things go down the shitter to prove a point or so they can feel validated because their guy lost.
Yeah and I see just as many liberals out there who were glad to see the economy tank in the first place on Bush's watch so they could be validated as well. I don't really think that it's any better on the liberals side of the spectrum than the conservatives. As a right *leaning* independent, I can say I didn't like McCain at all. But I sure as hell didn't want another 8 years of Carter, which is what I think we got coming. I don't know what you mean by your complaint about conservatives being bitter because "their guy didn't win". Our hearts were never behind McCain for the most part. He is a Milquetoast conservative and nothing to get riled up about because he had a lot of liberal ideas. We felt no loss when he didn't win the election. We felt the loss when he was nominated.
Things were bad before. It was a downward spiral. Government spending was already way out of control. If there were no action or money spent, you can bet things would be a lot worse right now and you people would still be bitching because nothing was done. What are your solutions other than to sit around and wait for failure like others sit around and wait for Obama to save the world?
Things would be a lot worse right now? Maybe, but one thing is certain, we wouldn't have as much debt as we do now. People like you are the ones who caused this mess to begin with. You think everything is fine financially, no matter how much debt you have. Sir, we have a major problem with the deficit, and already congress is poised to spend trillions more on worthless green energy legislation. I take serious issue with that.
I didn't want Obama, but I didn't want another Bush. The last eight years were bad and our current situation is a tell-tale sign of that.
Yay, so now we have 8 years of Carter coming.
Bush inherited a surplus and went into Iraq anyways, then declared "Mission Accomplished" and blah blah blah. We all know how bad it was. Maybe you don't because you didn't pay attention the last eight years because YOUR guy was in office. I think that is what turns me off to the conservative movement more than anything. It is full of the bottom of the barrel human beings.
Yeah we're so bottom of the barrel. Why is it that whenever there is a batch of liberals at some random location 'x', you hear all about the arrests that were made, the piss bombs that they made with balloons, and their piss filled buckets they dump on people. My god, and you have the audacity to sit there and claim that Conservatives are at the bottom of the barrel? What kind of shit are you smoking, anyways? How many people get arrested at Conservative protests? You rarely hear of ANYONE being arrested. Frankly, I'm not a complete conservative, just one who leans right, but I can honestly and objectively say that I sense a lot more general hostility from liberals than I do from conservatives.
The same people who thought Ron Paul was nuts, but are out there now repeating EVERYTHING HE WAS SAYING during the campaign and using the Constitution as a weapon. You people are so upset because you hear the sky is falling from your talk radio gurus who are getting a fat pay check to make you all upset.
This "new-found" interest in politics comes a tad late and is derived from hate and half-truths. The people who do not want a public option are getting information that comes directly from insurance companies and their lobbyists. All that money goes to campaigns, advertising dollars to FOX and talking heads, and finally trickled down to the masses who think the world is going to end. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED. They kill a public option with lies and the people lose.
Oh, and that is just not at ALL like the global warming, pro environmentalist movement, is it? Like all the green energy lobbyists rolling the dice in washington, sipping Martini's and rubbing shoulders with all the senators out there to get their green b.s. passed. You have greedy companies out there who don't give a shit about the environment, but they see it as their chance to take a bite out of the energy market previously dominated by big oil. Yes, big green is just as greedy and insidious as big black. I find it amusing how naive the left is. They think that green energy companies are all well meaning, earth loving, eutopian sympathizers. I am undecided on whether global temps are really influenced much at all by humans. I suspect they're not, because the planet has been cooling so much the last 10 years despite more co2 presence. But one thing is for sure, the left ran with that initiative prematurely, declaring the case closed long before it was adequately established science. I don't believe that anyone took a serious, sober look at the problem before declaring another crisis.
Health care is fucked, but I have yet to hear a solution or something that resembles fact from the opponents. Republicans do not want Obama to pass this. Not because it is bad, but because it is GOOD. They want to win the White House back, and if this goes through, Obama gets a victory. A big one. Republicans and insurance companies do not want this to happen. They want to be on top. There's a lot of money there. The easiest way to kill it is to freak you sheeple out and tell you Russia is coming to take us over or whatever the fuck you guys are buying into.
I really do believe that people like you are so easily programmed by all the media squak boxes out there. They love to generate a new crisis every week to watch the sheep scream and run about in confusion and panic. Did it ever occur to you that maybe the whole health care problem is being exaggerated by the press? I know that I, as well as every single immediate and extended family member I know has 0 problems with their health care they get from work. They pay reasonable fees, and get good health service. But, people like you, who are so easily influenced, hear the talking heads out there say that "the health care system is going to collapse!!" or "The planet is going to melt down! My God!", you just trust them right off the bat! It is so weird! I've never really understood that. I prefer to balance the news I get, balance it with a little understanding of human nature (yes there are such forces as groupthink - but I'm sure you're convinced Liberals are all immune to that), and come to a conclusion based on a little WISDOM in how people like to get really whipped up about manufactured crisis. No thanks.
