I am an amateur photographer seeking not only guidance or advice from professional artists; but, also a means of marketing and selling my photography. Originally, photography was a hobby of mine; but, recently I entered some of my work into a charity silent auction that a friend of mine put on. I ended up selling half of my stuff for good prices and thought maybe I could start looking to make some profit with my work. I do not have a specific genre; but, most of my work is made up of landscape and still photography. So, I ask, what is the best way for me to get my foot into the door? What roads can I take in order to sell/market/advertise my photography. I am in the process of creating a website and a portfolio. Are there agents out there that would promote my work? I am interested in selling my work in either art shows, stock stores, or independantly. Can anyone out there help me? Thank you!
