The Senior VB.Net Developer (Senior Software Engineer) will design and develop software using the .Net Framework for use with MEDTOX products and services. This role will also translate complex business challenges into innovative and effective technical solutions that meet specific business needs.

The responsibilities in this role include understanding business processes, developing a clear technical design and working with the development team/DBAs/business to implement a solution. This position serves as a key resource in the development team and works collaboratively with the business staff to provide enterprise solutions. The position requires extensive programming experience, strong problem solving skills, experience with Microsoft SQL databases, familiarity with the full SDLC, as well as an ongoing commitment to learning new technologies. The Development team is responsible for the design, development, unit testing, and deployment of Microsoft VB.Net applications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
� Work closely with staff and business partners to understand the business processes, workflows, technical architecture, and requirements for development projects
� Design, Develop, test, and implement applications and web services written in VB.Net using ASP.Net and MVC 3 design patterns in an n-tier architecture
� Demonstrate consistent design/coding standards
� Ability to prioritize tasks and provide estimates for completion of the same
� Lead and Participate in peer mentoring along with the members of the Development team
� Demonstrate iterative prototypes to users and guiding them through effective testing to ensure consistent testing is performed.
� Responsible for documentation of existing applications and updates as changes are made.
� Resolve technical and/or business problems
� Provide effective support throughout the development lifecycle

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Required Education and Experience:
� Bachelor's degree in computer science or MIS or equivalent education and experience
� A minimum of 4 years experience developing with Microsoft's Visual Studio .NET and the .Net framework (1.1, 2.0, 3.5, 4.0)
� Experience building and consuming web services
� Minimum of four years of experience developing database objects with Microsoft SQL Server or other major SQL database platform
� Proven ability to design and develop user interfaces that minimize business user training

Preferred Education and Experience:
� VB.Net experience preferred
� Two years experience designing software objects based on object-oriented design principles.
� Two years experience using SQL Server reporting services or other reporting tool
� Familiarity with Microsoft Visio or other modeling tool
� .Net MVC (3) pattern implementation experience

OTHER KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
� Strong problem solving skills
� Troubleshoot, diagnose, and solve issues with technologies best suited for the problem
� Able to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
� Able to plan, organize and monitor activities according to priorities
� Able to quickly grasp new concepts, approaches or systems
